Professor Phil Wood, chief executive at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, is the latest keynote speaker to be confirmed for Digital Health Rewired 2025.
He will present at the annual conference, taking place at the NEC in Birmingham on 18-19 March 2025, which brings together names from the health sector and digital innovation to share insights, experiences and opportunities.
In his keynote session, Prof Wood will explore the continuing need for strong local digital capabilities to meet the evolving challenges of health and care across complex patient journeys.
As chief executive of one of the largest trusts in England, he will make the case for a locally developed and supported electronic patient record (EPR) strategy and how this benefits staff and patients.
Leeds has developed its in-house Patient Pathway Manager (PPM+) EPR over the past two decades and it is now used across multiple local organisations.
Prof Wood will be joined by Professor Geoff Hall, professor of digital health at the University of Leeds and chief clinical information officer at Leeds Teaching Hospitals, who will share how PPM+ provided Leeds with easy access to data which allowed it to be one of the first trusts able to report on Covid-19.
Rabina Tindale, chief nurse at Leeds Teaching Hospitals and Paul Jones, chief digital information officer at Leeds Teaching Hospitals will also take part in the session to provide details of PPM+ in practice.
The speakers from Leeds join a growing list of healthcare and digital experts confirmed for the event, including Dr Dominic Pimenta, Dr Joe Zhang, Ming Tang, Dr Jessica Morley, Mike Bracken, Professor Rachel Dunscombe, Professor Henrique Martins, Helen Thomas and Dr Malte Gerhold.
Rewired 2025, which is co-headline sponsored by The Access Group, will feature NHS leaders joined by healthcare providers and planners, researchers, and academics, established industry leaders, suppliers and promising start-ups.
The theme for the 2025 event is ‘achieving productivity, equity and improved outcomes through digital health’ and it will be packed with insights and inspiration for anyone wanting to learn from the UK’s best digital health speakers and NHS case studies.
